New York rock done right. From the opening pick scrape on the big E, to the final vulgar profanity, Joker Five Speed’s new release, “Under The Influence Of Rock N Roll” rocks fucking hard. Street tough, gritty, and savvy, with tons of gigs under their belts, this band has toned their craft to razor edge perfection. And this CD is their testament.

“So Bored” will leave you anything but. Sizzling and chunky, this song conveys the frustration of too much time on your hands, and the aggressive compulsion to get angry about it. This song explodes like a pocket rocket. Rocking guitar riffing by BSTONE.

“Take Me Home” verges on an anthem cut. Nice drum intro from Roger. Pumped up backing vocals give it Templeton flair, go ahead and raise the fist.

Utter bedlam ensues with “Shotgun”. An ode to a leather clad beauty with a bag of cocaine. Who can resist that? Prepare to have your senses pulverized. Nice and chewy.

A bumpy ride is what you get in “Jet Set City”. My first favorite song on the CD, I listened to this song like 100 times in a row. Rock and roll bad boys breaking the rules story told here. “Gonna Rock Tonight” you got that right!

“Too Far Gone” will have you putting the pedal to the metal. A fast and furious delivery of pure rock adrenalin. Turbocharged for your life in the fast lane.

“Do It Again” is like a heart racing anxiety attack. Leaving you breathless, you’ll want to scream and shout. Just do it!

The momentum keeps on churning with “Scars And Strips”. The mental pictures conjured up can be true in just about any major city where the nightlife is on. Truly electrifying soundscapes that will rock your world. The underbelly standout: bass by Scarlet Rowe.

“Destination Meltdown” starts moody, then crescendos higher and higher. The strong survive when the chips are down. Marshalls roar and guitar soar to new heights. If you are bummed or pissed this song is a sure cure.

“Viva La Rock” is a high stepping hotshot. A overdosing junkie and a dead prostitute are the subjects. Some say drugs are glamorous, they haven’t been there. “Viva La Rock”

You owe it to yourself to get this locked and loaded CD.
